Elizabeth Newberry Wooldridge
My dear, sweet grandmother, Peggy Wooldridge died this morning at 5am surrounded by her family at home in Dallas,TX. She was 92 years old.
She was a cute little lady, with timely funny quips, a good laugher, and honestly opinionated like an old lady should be. She was an American girl raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, who went to college, married a giant, short man who was the quarterback at Texas Tech in 1924. She raised three girls, including my beautiful mother, her youngest daughter. "Gabby" survived to meet 17 of her great grandchildren. She still could speak fluent spanish if needed. She was our matriarch for the last 20 years since my grandfather died. Grandmommy will be missed.

Sam, I'm so sorry to hear that your grandmother has passed away. What an amazing life she led and example she set. I know she meant so much to your whole family and will be greatly missed. I, too, have had reminders lately of how very important our grandmothers, the "matriarchs" of our families, are and I will be in prayer for your mom and the rest of your sweet family.
(Like the new look of the blog, by the way...)
Sam, I am so sorry. That is hard. I will be praying for your mom and her sisters and the rest of their families. What a great lady she must have been!
(I like the way your blog looks too and I like that you might move to Texas)
Sam, I too am so sorry about your grandmother. What a wonderful legacy she has left for all of your family! I know that you will all miss her so much. Her life is a true example of creating a Christian home. Our thoughts and prayers are definitely with you guys-
Chelsea, Ashley, and Alyssa: Thank you for your notes. I am always glad to hear from you guys, no matter the circumstances.
Sam- we are very sorry to hear about Grandmommy. I love that she was such a huge part of yours and Blair's life. That is really rare and special.
Good luck with residency- only 2 years to go! Your last post deeply reminds me of my law school experience.. fiercely wishing every day away or a better experience altogether.
Sam,
I was so sad to hear about your Grandmommy's passing. She was such an incredible woman. We will be sure to remember your entire family in our prayers as you go through this difficult time.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss as well. I just spent an amazing weekend with Jason's wedding (!) and all my incredible family. It was hard not having my grandfather there, though. Sounds like your life is a bit of trial right now...as you said, may your next year be different. God will provide. S Booker
Sam, Cary and I were sorry to hear about your precious grandmother. I still miss my grandmother especially at the special moments in life. I am sure your Grandmommy is watching over you and smiling. Our prayers will be with you and the rest of your family.
